Ok, so I’ve been rather MIA for the last number of months, but not without reason! Year two of my diploma program is well underway and I can’t believe how busy I’ve been. I’ll delve into more later, but for now, here’s a major highlight:
Each year TÉLIO hosts a national design competition amongst most of the major fashion schools in Canada. The fabrics and theme of the year are predetermined by TÉLIO, and then the students have about a month or so to come with a design within the parameters. 7 designs from each school are sent in to be juried, and a total of 25 semifinalists from across the country are selected to compete on the runway in Montreal.
And… I’m going to Montreal!!!
Myself and two of my amazing fellow students at VCC were selected as part of the 25 semi-finalists! Still, there’s a lot of work ahead of us. As our school semester comes to a close, we have just a little over a month left to complete the final garments. Once finished, the three of us will be flown out to Montreal to showcase our looks on the runway!
Needless to say, I am super excited.
TÉLIO will be posting interviews with each of the semi-finalists each week, and my school was up first! Check out my interview here:
